Winter Night on Maestro Guo

That night

So many a night

Sluggish Shadow, You

Much thinner, more strengthless

than winter

Ash-flying countenance

is hardship sharpened by Seasons.

A persistence  Must

Complete  Must

Leap up the same temperature of notes  Must

Silence is resistance  Must

Resistance is fight  Must

Fight  Must

Keep on your beating  Must

Forty more years

Response to your soul

is

sloppy white chords.

But deeper and deeper

My blood hears

an acquaintance needn't be recited

rhythm and melody

tune by tune night by night

Dear sketching of

Beautiful home country

heavily and lightly. 

What a slant cradle

Cultivates

your voice pure as snow

night by night tune by tune

Only in heaven

But the hidden aura floating in

the air uproarious with

Ignorance.

Might be Mother's

Breast tranquil

Harmonious symphony of Da-En River

Greenness plowed acre by acre

all melted into the motif

Time and History intertwined

Enriching the affluence of

this land, these people.
